was established in 1988 from a community task force to address
high infant mortality. Our purpose is to prevent and reduce
infant/maternal illness and death, which for several years have
been excessively high in our communities.

On Thursday, June 4th 8.30 am, please join the Brooklyn Perinatal Network (BPN), the Central Brooklyn Health Crisis Coalition (CBHCC) and several other community partners in the “Organizing for Healthier Brooklyn Communities” forum at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, 55 Schenectady Ave, Bklyn,(click link below for more info)
We will: dialogue on strategies that encourage proactive community health and wellness organizing; , share important information on accessing the President Obama’s Stimulus Package funding, which is vital to the recovery and reinvestment of our community’s health and well being. develop a vision for sustainable change in community health status; discuss acquisition of health resources, access to and delivery of services; report on victories of recent community advocacy effort; and recognize our local Heros who have contributed to the successes – Harriet McCloud- former CB #8 member; Faith-based leaders of the Committee to Save our Hospitals (COSH); Joyce Shelby, Brooklyn Daily new Reporter and Dr. Lorna McBarnette – both recently deceased; and others.

Funds to Expand Services to Pregnant Women Received from March of Dimes
Brooklyn Perinatal Network, Inc. is excited and pleased to announce that we are one of twelve recipients of the 2006 Community Grant award from the March of Dimes. The project being funded is the Birthing Project/Sister Friend Initiative.
